SPATIAL PATTERN OF DEVELOPMENT IN SOUTHWESTERN NIGERIA

Decentralization in the form of creating new states and local government areas has taken place in Southwestern Nigeria over a period of about four decades. This study examines the resultant spatial pattern of development of the local government areas in Southwestern Nigeria with the aim of investigating whether developments still cluster around the previous administrative headquarters to the detriment of the new centres.
