OIL, POLITICS AND CONFLICTS IN SUB-SAHARAN AFRICA: A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF NIGERIA AND SOUTH SUDAN

Over the years, Sub-Saharan Africa has become synonymous with conflicts. And of all the known causes of conflicts in Africa, the gift of abundant resources appears to be the most prominent and lethal. Nigeria and South Sudan are some of the many resourcerich countries in Sub-Saharan Africa that have beenexperiencing endemic conflicts whose consequences have been under development and abject poverty.
