Crude Oil Price Volatility and its Impact on Nigeria’s Balance of Trade: An Empirical Assessment (2000–2023)

This study investigates the impact of crude oil price volatility on Nigeria’s balance of trade from 2000 to 2023, incorporating the Consumer Price Index (CPI) as a moderating variable to capture inflationary dynamics. Using quarterly time-series data, the study explores both the direct effect of oil price volatility and the moderating influence of domestic price levels on trade performance.
