Exploring the Rhetorical Structures of Nigeria’s Two National Anthems: A Comparative Study

This paper provides a comparative rhetorical analysis of Nigeria’s two national anthems: “Nigeria, We Hail Thee” and “Arise, O Compatriots.” Adopted at different junctures in the nation’s post-independence history, these anthems serve as potent symbols of Nigeria’s evolving national identity, political ideologies, and socio-cultural values.
