This study evaluated the effectiveness and efficiency of National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) on the amelioration of enrollees’ huge medical bills and out-of-pocket expenditures at the University of Calabar Medical Centre. One null hypothesis and one research question were formulated each in line with the objective of the study.
