Impact of Small and Medium Scale Enterprises Financing on Unemployment Rates in Nigeria: 1992-2021

The study examined the impact of SMEs financing on unemployment rates in Nigeria for the period of 1992-2021. Data were collected on unemployment rate (UMP), bank credit (BC), aid and grant to SMEs (AGS), SMEs credit Scheme (SCS) and per capita income (PCI). The study employs autoregressive distributed lagged model (ARDL). The unit root test result shows that all the variables are stationary after first difference at 5% level of significance except AGS and BC that were stationary at level.
