How Real Is the Fear of Competition in the Nigerian Downstream Petroleum Market?

Nigeria’s downstream oil sector is undergoing a major structural transition driven by deregulation, subsidy removal, and the entry of Dangote Refinery into the market. While these changes have improved local supply of fuel and stabilized prices, they have also generated fears of monopolistic domination in the market.
