Effect of Debt Servicing on Private Investment in Nigeria

This study examined the impact of debt servicing on private investment in Nigeria over a 43- year period, from 1981 to 2023. An ex post facto research design was employed, and regression analysis was used to evaluate the relationship between government debt servicing and private investment. The results revealed that government debt servicing has a statistically significant positive effect on private investment in Nigeria, leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis that no such relationship exists.
