An advance in African sociology

Anthropological studies tend to be in the sense that they are descriptions on the same plane of analysis of new social regions or new aspects of social life. Rarely do they provide us with a new set of abstractions allowing deeper analysis, and giving us new theoretical concepts and new techniques of fieldwork. I do not decry the merits of the repetitive studies. They are immensely valuable both in their own right and in their contribution to the general advance of our discipline.
