New trends in African integration

Innovation has lately become the key to integration attempts in. Africa. For a number of reasons, Africans tend to shun the direct political approach to interterritorial union; instead they are experimenting with new formulas which will reconcile national independence, regional autonomy, and economic development. They are breaking loose from such old reconciliational models of the West as federalism and are searching for novel, African approaches.
