The Constitution of the Second Republic of Nigeria

The 1979 Constitution of Nigeria was modeled on that of the United States. Unfortunately, that 1979 instrument built-in corrupt politico-economic competition during the rise and collapse of Nigeria's oil boom. Some such problems might have been minimized had certain critical American Constitutional theory been studied in advance. But Nigerians of the current, post-Constitutional period yet can facilitate national politico-economic progress by adopting a specific "Jeffersonian" political economy principle; that principle actually had been contradicted by the Constitution of the Second Republic.…
