Reforming local government in Nigeria: an examination of selected local governments in the northern states of Nigeria

The objectives of this study were to determine the degree to which the Local Government reforms stipulated by the Federal Military Government of Nigeria in 1976 and subsequently incorporated into the 1979 federal Constitution were achieved during the civilian governed Second Republic, 1979-83.
