The Impending Demise of Nigeria's Forthcoming Third Republic

Nigeria is currently at the threshold of a third attempt at the establishment of a democratic government. Elaborate plans and programs for a long-drawn out transition process that will culminate in a transfer of power from an autocratic military regime to an elected civilian administration in 1992 have been made. A new constitution has been drafted, debated and approved.
