RESHAPING NIGERIA’S AFRICAN POLICY IN A POST-APARTHEID ERA

This paper attempts a critical analysis of Nigeria’s African policy. It argues for a distinct policy blueprint on Africa which is recognized as a part of the country’s foreign policy and not the foreign policy itself writ large. The paper emphasizes that “Africa as the centre piece of our foreign policy” is not the same thing as a proper Nigerian policy on Africa which in the main is the summary of all the West African, Central African, Southern African, Horn of African and the Magrhebin policies.
