Wage Determination and Strike Activity in Nigeria

This paper presents a model designed to study wage determination and strike activity in an economic and institutional environment different from those analysed in the strike literature. This model embodies the hypotheses that wages and prices are jointly determined, and that incomes policies significantly contribute to the increase in the frequency of strikes in Nigeria.
