THE EFFECT OF GLOBALIZATION ON WORKERS' RIGHTS IN THE GLOBAL SOUTH: EVIDENCE FROM NIGERIA

This study was undertaken to unveil the effect of globalization on workers‟ rights in Nigeria with a focus on Chinese, India and Lebanese factories in Lagos state. A total of 300 workers were interviewed through questionnaires and few workers were also interviewed verbally. Data from the field survey indicated that the secondary school graduates dominate most of the factories. Furthermore, most of the workers have the right to join the union and they have uninterrupted salary payment.
