The two principal towns shown are Idah and Onitsha. The sheets are dated between 31 May and 8 June 1874. They are numbered and, if brought together, might make a survey of a continuous stretch of the river. Most of the sheets are stamped in red 'Robert Capper 4:xi:84'. Dimensions: fifteen sheets each about 33 cm x 21 cm and five sheets each about 42 cm x 33 cm.
