'Map of the countries to the West of the Middle and Lower Niger': map of the area between Bandiagara (now in Mali), Fresco (in Ivory Coast (Côte d'Ivoire)) and Brass (now in Nigeria). Published 22 October 1897; corrected to March 1898. Coloured MS additions show colonial boundary lines, including a neutral zone, and the extent of European penetration into the interior.
