Petition of William Soley, of Rotherhithe, mariner, who lost his left arm in service on board the bomb ship the Star, that he may become a pensioner of the county; with Navy offices certificate of service and certificate of baptism of William Soley at St Mary Rotherhithe. Soley claimed that after the ship's boat was cast away, he spent the night on an uninhabited island Hani-lago in the West Indies, rescued by a merchant ship which was soon after taken by a French privateer and held prisoner in
