Defeat of the Toulon squadron off Lagos by Admiral Boscawen, of which he encloses a rather confused Portuguese account (f.300). Forsees the Portuguese will protest over a breach of their neutrality, so is endeavouring to palliate Boscawen's conduct as best he can. Date and place: 1759 Aug 27 Lisbon.
