Tosh Kano. | Volume I Chapter I In this introductory chapter Tosh Kano describes his childhood in Honolulu. Following his expulsion from school, he was sent to an uncle in Japan, where he continued his education. He was about 12 years old at this time. Chapter II This short chapter describes his initial language problems in Japan and his progress at school. Tosh Kano also refers to the problems encountered by his father's construction business in Honolulu, which was hit by the depression of the early 1930s.
