Despatches sent from General Sir F D Lugard, Governor (Described at item level). | Export Tax on Plantation Products: Has now established that there was no export tax imposed by German tariff on products from the plantations so reports were inaccurate, however they were given exemption from the import tax on food imported for their labourers, can see no reason for continuing this if proposal to charge 2 percent on total turnover is not approved. Sent by Governor General Sir F D Lugard, 31 May 1916.
