Lagos Court Issues Bench Warrant Against Fleeing Defendant for Alleged N233m Theft

Justice A.O. Okunuga of the Lagos State High Court siting in Ikeja, Lagos, on Tuesday October 7, 2025 issued a bench warrant for the arrest of one Olubunmi Akintoye for failing to appear in court for her trial. The Lagos Zonal Directorate 1 of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, had, on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, arraigned Akintoye on a 12-count charge bordering on stealing to the tune of N233, 000,000( Two Hundred and Thirty-three Million Naira).
