The Doctors of Nigeria

Demonstrates the interrelationship of traditional herbal medicine and orthodox Western medicine in Nigeria and shows how their mutual cooperation results in health benefits that answer Nigeria's needs. Describes an experiment in Nigeria which allows Western physicians to work hand-in-hand with traditional healers. The West is learning about treating ailments with herbs and setting bones without the use of anesthesia or plaster casts. The traditional healers, on the other hand, are learning that diseases like diphtheria and polio can be cured.
