ERIC ED389164: The Role of Media in Promoting African Indigenous Languages (Case Study of Nigeria).
This report assesses the threat posed to Nigerian national culture by foreign cultural values through manipulation of the local media, stressing that the Nigerian media is not people-oriented, but rather government dominated. This study sought to prove through content-analysis the level of commitment of media in promoting and integrating traditional folk media into the modern media technology.
