Microfinance Manager, 3 Others Sent to Prison for N29m Fraud
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has secured the conviction of one Sani Abubakar, a former manager of a Microfinance Bank in Arugungu, Kebbi State, for offences bordering on conspiracy, forgery, obtaining money under false pretence and issuance of dud cheque to the tune of N29 million. The convicts connived and forged contract documents and award letters from Arugungu Microfinance Bank and used same to obtain 800 units of motorcycles from the petitioner and diverted same to their personal use.
