ERIC ED051032: Families Around the World. Two Year Sequence in Grades 1 and 2. Teacher's Guide.

This general guide for teachers explains the structure, content, rationale and objectives of a social studies sequence for grades 1 and 2. Selected cultures on the theme Families Around the World point up cultural diversity, help children recognize uniqueness of culture, show that culture is learned, teach children about norms and values, and emphasize cultural universals and the psychic unity of mankind.
