African Diaspora soccer tournament

Soccer players from teams representing Nigeria, Liberia, Ghana, and the Caribbean prepare to play in the City of Newark’s First Annual African Diaspora Festival’s Nationals Soccer Tournament, at the newly-opened Nat Turner Park on August 1, 2009. Twenty teams from across the globe took part in the tournament, which marked the second day of the City of Newark’s festival. The tournament was one of the first such events to be held on the nine-acre Nat Turner Park, the City’s largest park.
