Petroleum rent collection around the world

This study analyzes the mechanisms employed to extract petroleum rents in a number of significant producing countries, with the several schemes employed in Canada being given detailed attention. Both advanced industrial countries and developing ones were selected, and two OPEC members, Nigeria and Indonesia, were specifically included. The countries were chosen to encompass a wide range of fiscal devices, although countries where petroleum production has been nationalized have not been included in the study.
