(From the series "The NATO and Southern Africa") Preface The Third Committee of the 33rd United Nations General Assembly in its mobilising resolution on the “liquidation of all forms of racial discrimination” of October 24th, 1978, clearly denounced apartheid “as a crime against humanity” and “as a serious threat to international peace and security”. The overwhelming majority of the peoples and their governments, that is the world’s 108 countries voted in favour of this resolution.
