PUBLIC HOLIDAYS DECREE 1979 Decree No.3 [1st January 1979] THE FEDERAL MILITARY GOVERNMENT hereby decrees as follows: 1. The days mentioned in the Schedule to this Decree shall be kept as public holidays throughout Nigeria. 2.-(1) In addition to the days mentioned in the Schedule to this Decree, the Head of the Federal Military Government may by public notice appoint a special day to be kept as a public holiday either throughout Nigeria or in any part thereof, and any day so appointed shall be kept as a public holiday.
